Slow Cooked Mashed Apples
Ingredients
- 3 good-sized baking apples
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Method
- 1 Peel and core the apples, then place them in a saucepan with the cold water.
- 2 Cover the pan tightly and cook over low heat for about 2 hours, or until soft.
- 3 Drain off any remaining water and let the apples sit for a few minutes to dry.
- 4 Mash the apples with a fork, then stir in the butter and sugar until combined.
