Slow Baked Spiced Pears

Ingredients

  • 4 Barland pears
  • 1 lemon (rind and juice)
  • 1 small stick cinnamon
  • 20 grains allspice
  • 1 lb loaf sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water

Method

  1. 1 Peel the pears and remove the cores.
  2. 2 Place pears tightly in a covered saucepan.
  3. 3 Add lemon rind, lemon juice, cinnamon, allspice, sugar, and water.
  4. 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 6 hours.
