Slow Baked Spiced Pears
Ingredients
- 4 Barland pears
- 1 lemon (rind and juice)
- 1 small stick cinnamon
- 20 grains allspice
- 1 lb loaf sugar
- 1 ½ cups water
Method
- 1 Peel the pears and remove the cores.
- 2 Place pears tightly in a covered saucepan.
- 3 Add lemon rind, lemon juice, cinnamon, allspice, sugar, and water.
- 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 6 hours.
