Slow Baked Beans With Salt Pork
Ingredients
- 1 lb dried beans
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup syrup
- 1 lb salt pork, cut in pieces
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp paprika
Method
- 1 Soak beans overnight. Drain, cover with water, boil, then drain.
- 2 Cover beans with fresh water, boil for 15 minutes, then drain.
- 3 Combine beans, tomatoes, onions, syrup, salt pork, salt, and paprika.
- 4 Add enough water to cover beans by one inch. Mix well.
- 5 Cover pot closely and bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 4 hours.
