Simmered Mutton Chops With Turnips

  • cold water
  • 1 onion
  • turnips

Method

  1. 1 Place mutton chops and an onion in a stew-pan. Add enough cold water to cover the chops.
  2. 2 Bring to a boil, then skim the surface. Cover the pan tightly and reduce heat to very low.
  3. 3 Simmer gently for about 45 minutes until the chops are tender.
  4. 4 Add turnips to the pan to boil with the chops. Skim well.
  5. 5 Serve the chops and turnips in a deep dish with the broth.
