Simmered Chicken With Paprika And Lemon
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, jointed
- Cold water to cover
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 stalks celery
- 3 sprigs parsley
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt to taste
- Juice of ½ lemon
Method
- 1 Place jointed chicken in a pot with enough cold water to cover. Bring to a boil slowly and simmer until tender, about 2 to 3 hours.
- 2 After simmering for about an hour, add the sliced onion, celery, parsley, and paprika to the pot.
- 3 Once the chicken is cooked, arrange it in a serving dish.
- 4 Season the gravy with salt and lemon juice, then pour it over the chicken.
