Simmered Beets With Lemon And Butter
Ingredients
- Beets, boiled until tender and sliced
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- Juice of ½ lemon
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Grated nutmeg
- Dash of pepper
- 2 tablespoons stock
- 1 teaspoon butter
Method
- 1 Boil beets until tender, then slice them.
- 2 Place sliced beets in a stewpan with vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt, nutmeg, and pepper.
- 3 Add stock and butter, then simmer for 30 minutes.
