Simmered Apple Purée With Cinnamon
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 24 sugar cubes
- 6 apples
- Pinch of cinnamon or cloves
Method
- 1 Dissolve the sugar in the water in a pot.
- 2 Add the whole, unpeeled apples and a pinch of cinnamon or cloves.
- 3 Simmer for 20-30 minutes until the apples are very soft.
- 4 Remove from heat and rub the mixture through a sieve with a wooden spoon to create a smooth purée.
