Shrewsbury Shortbread Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 1 lb unsalted butter
- 1.5 lb all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp milk or cream
- 1 egg
Method
- 1 Rub the powdered sugar and butter together until well combined.
- 2 Mix in the sifted flour, milk, and egg to form a smooth paste.
- 3 Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
- 4 Roll out the dough thinly and cut into 3-inch circles.
- 5 Bake on a baking sheet in a 350°F oven until golden.
