Shirred Eggs With Butter Glaze
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- Butter for greasing dishes
- Salt
- Hot butter for basting
Method
- 1 Butter individual china dishes. Break one egg into each dish.
- 2 Sprinkle a little salt on the whites only, avoiding the yolks.
- 3 Place dishes in a hot oven. Baste the yolks several times with hot butter to create a glaze.
- 4 Remove from oven as soon as the glaze appears. If needed, stand on top of range for one minute. Do not dry the eggs.
