Sesame Ginger Tofu And Broccoli
Ingredients
- 1 pound firm tofu
- 4 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
- 2 scallions, green and white parts chopped
- 1 head broccoli, broken into florets with stems chopped
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro or basil leaves
Method
- 1 Cut tofu into 8 pieces. Place on paper towels and drain for 20 minutes to 2 hours.
- 2 Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook tofu until golden, about 3 minutes per side. Remove to a plate.
- 3 Add remaining 2 teaspoons oil to the skillet. Sauté garlic and scallions until golden, about 2 minutes.
- 4 Add broccoli and water. Raise heat to high and cook until tender, about 4 minutes.
- 5 Return tofu to the pan. Add soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and cilantro. Stir well and serve.
