Scalded Milk Double Boiler Hot Cocoa
Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 3 level tablespoons cocoa powder
- ¼ cup sugar
- Few grains salt
- ¾ cup boiling water
- Whipped cream for serving
Method
- 1 Heat milk to scalding point in a double boiler or over hot water.
- 2 Mix cocoa, sugar, and salt into a paste with a little of the hot milk.
- 3 Stir in boiling water and boil for one minute.
- 4 Add mixture to hot milk and beat for two minutes.
- 5 Serve topped with a tablespoon of beaten or whipped cream.
