Sally Lunn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- ¼ pound butter
- 1 heaped spoonful sugar
- 3 eggs
- salt
- flour
- 1 tea cup yeast
Method
- 1 Warm milk with butter and sugar.
- 2 Beat eggs and add to milk mixture with salt and enough flour to make batter stiffer than pound cake.
- 3 Add yeast, beat well, and let rise.
- 4 Butter a fluted pan, pour in batter, and bake in a quick oven for one hour.
- 5 Slice and butter to serve.
