Sage Onion Bread Crumb Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 oz onion, chopped very fine
  • 0.5 oz green sage leaves, chopped very fine
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 oz fine bread crumbs
  • 0.25 pt broth, gravy, or melted butter

Method

  1. 1 Chop the onion and sage very fine. Place them in a stew-pan with 4 tablespoons of water.
  2. 2 Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Add pepper, salt, and bread crumbs. Mix well.
  4. 4 Pour in broth, gravy, or melted butter. Stir well and simmer for a few minutes longer.
