Rye Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 4 cups rye flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 teaspoons baking powder
- 1½ cups milk
- 1 tablespoon shortening
Method
- 1 Sift together the rye flour, salt, and baking powder.
- 2 Add the milk and melted shortening to the dry ingredients.
- 3 Knead the dough on a floured board and shape into rolls.
- 4 Place rolls in greased pans and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
- 5 Bake in a 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
