Rye Cheese Spread Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 1 cup country or buttermilk cheese
- ½ cup thick mayonnaise
- 1 onion, chopped very fine
- 1 green pepper, chopped very fine
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- ½ teaspoon mustard
- Rye bread
- English butter
Method
- 1 In a bowl, mix the cheese, mayonnaise, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, salt, paprika, and mustard until thoroughly combined.
- 2 Spread English butter on slices of rye bread.
- 3 Spread the cheese filling between the bread slices and cut into finger-width strips.
