Rum Egg Nog With Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp rum or brandy
  • Milk to fill a glass
  • Nutmeg for garnish
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Beat the egg yolk and sugar together until light and creamy.
  2. 2 Whip the egg white to stiff peaks, then gently fold it into the yolk mixture.
  3. 3 Pour the mixture into a glass and add the rum or brandy.
  4. 4 Fill the rest of the glass with milk, stirring or shaking well to combine.
  5. 5 Grate fresh nutmeg over the top. Optionally substitute milk with whipped cream.
