Rose Water Spiced Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sugar
  • 1 lb flour
  • 1 nutmeg, grated
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Rose water to taste
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • Melted butter as needed

Method

  1. 1 Sift 1 lb flour with 1 lb sugar, grated nutmeg, and cinnamon into a large bowl.
  2. 2 Add beaten eggs and a little rose water. Mix well.
  3. 3 Add melted butter gradually until the dough is thick enough to roll out.
  4. 4 Mold the dough, roll it thin, and cut into shapes.
  5. 5 Bake on tin sheets in a moderate oven (350°F) until set.
