Rose Water Nutmeg Shortbread Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 1 ¼ lb flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 ¼ lb sugar
- 1 glass rose water
- 1 nutmeg
- powdered sugar for dusting
Method
- 1 Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 2 Beat eggs with sugar until very light and fluffy.
- 3 Mix beaten eggs into the butter and flour mixture.
- 4 Stir in rose water and grated nutmeg.
- 5 Roll dough into rings and bake in a slow oven (300°F) until set.
- 6 Sift powdered sugar over the cookies while warm.
