Rose Water Baked Custard With Puff Pastry
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tsp rose water
- 1 sheet puff pastry, cut into strips
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 1-quart baking dish.
- 2 In a saucepan, heat cream and butter over medium heat until butter melts. Remove from heat.
- 3 Whisk in eggs, sugar, salt, nutmeg, and rose water until smooth and thin.
- 4 Pour mixture into the prepared dish. Arrange pastry strips around the rim.
- 5 Bake for 30-35 minutes until set and golden brown.
