Rose Milk Soaked Bread Fritters

Ingredients

  • 1 quart milk
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • Slices of bread
  • Egg yolks, well beaten
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Method

  1. 1 Boil milk with cinnamon and sugar to taste. Stir in rose water and remove from heat.
  2. 2 Cut bread into circular slices. Soak them in the warm milk until fully absorbed, then drain.
  3. 3 Dip the soaked bread slices into the beaten egg yolks.
  4. 4 Fry the bread in butter until golden brown on both sides.
  5. 5 Serve immediately, strewed generously with powdered sugar.
