Rose Milk Soaked Bread Fritters
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- Cinnamon to taste
- Sugar to taste
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Slices of bread
- Egg yolks, well beaten
- Butter for frying
- Powdered sugar for serving
Method
- 1 Boil milk with cinnamon and sugar to taste. Stir in rose water and remove from heat.
- 2 Cut bread into circular slices. Soak them in the warm milk until fully absorbed, then drain.
- 3 Dip the soaked bread slices into the beaten egg yolks.
- 4 Fry the bread in butter until golden brown on both sides.
- 5 Serve immediately, strewed generously with powdered sugar.
