Rolled Vanilla Sugar Waffles
Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- dash of salt
- ½ lb flour
- water as needed
- vanilla extract
- butter or oil for greasing
- powdered sugar for dusting
Method
- 1 Whip egg whites with a dash of salt to stiff peaks.
- 2 Mix flour with enough water to make a thin batter, then stir in vanilla and whipped egg whites.
- 3 Heat a gauffre (waffle) iron and grease well with butter or oil.
- 4 Pour thin batter into the iron, close, and bake on both sides over hot coals or heat source.
- 5 Remove gauffres, roll immediately while hot, and dust with powdered sugar.
