Roasted Orange And Clove Port Punch
Ingredients
- 1 orange
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 quart port wine
- 6 lumps cut loaf sugar
- freshly grated nutmeg
Method
- 1 Roast the orange in a hot oven or over a fire until browned.
- 2 Cut the orange into quarters and place in a heatproof vessel with the cloves.
- 3 Pour in 1 quart of hot port wine and add the sugar lumps.
- 4 Simmer the mixture over low heat for 30 minutes.
- 5 Serve in stemmed glasses, garnished with freshly grated nutmeg.
