Roasted Orange And Clove Port Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 quart port wine
  • 6 lumps cut loaf sugar
  • freshly grated nutmeg

Method

  1. 1 Roast the orange in a hot oven or over a fire until browned.
  2. 2 Cut the orange into quarters and place in a heatproof vessel with the cloves.
  3. 3 Pour in 1 quart of hot port wine and add the sugar lumps.
  4. 4 Simmer the mixture over low heat for 30 minutes.
  5. 5 Serve in stemmed glasses, garnished with freshly grated nutmeg.
