Roasted Chestnuts With Lemon And Sugar
Ingredients
- large chestnuts
- powdered sugar
- water
- lemon juice
Method
- 1 Cut a slit in the shell of each chestnut and roast in a charcoal furnace until done, being careful not to burn them.
- 2 Peel the roasted chestnuts and place them in a pan with powdered sugar and a very little water.
- 3 Simmer over a slow fire for about 15 minutes.
- 4 Remove chestnuts to a dish, squeeze lemon juice over them, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
