Red Wine Poached Prunes With Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 1 lb prunes
- 1 cup water
- ½ bottle light red wine
- ¼ lb sugar
- pinch cinnamon or mixed spice
- whipped cream for serving
Method
- 1 Soak prunes in water for 24 hours.
- 2 Drain prunes and place in a pot with 1 cup water, wine, sugar, and spice.
- 3 Stew over low heat until liquid reduces and prunes are tender and flavored.
- 4 Let cool completely, then serve in a glass dish topped with whipped cream.
