Red Wine Orange Salmon
Ingredients
- 1 salmon fillet or steak
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 large mace blade
- ¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp wine vinegar
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 slice stale white bread, finely crumbled
Method
- 1 Fry the salmon fillet whole in a skillet until cooked through.
- 2 In a separate dish over low heat, combine red wine, mace, nutmeg, salt, vinegar, orange slices, and butter to create a sauce.
- 3 Simmer the sauce until it thickens slightly.
- 4 Place the fried salmon on toasted bread slices (sippets).
- 5 Pour the thickened sauce over the fish, garnish with remaining orange slices and crumbled bread.
