Raisin Quick Bread
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons shortening
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 package raisins
Method
- 1 In a mixing bowl, beat together sugar, egg, shortening, flour, baking powder, and water until thoroughly mixed.
- 2 Pour the batter into a well-greased and floured loaf-shaped pan.
- 3 Spread raisins on top and gently press them into the dough with the back of a spoon.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 35 minutes.
