Quick White Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup scalded milk
- ¼ cup butter
- 3 yeast cakes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg white
- 3 to 4 cups flour
Method
- 1 Mix scalded milk, butter, yeast, sugar, salt, and egg white to make a sponge. Let stand in a warm place until full of bubbles.
- 2 Add flour and knead for twenty minutes. Mold into a loaf and place in a baking pan.
- 3 Let rise until double in size, then bake.
