Pull Taffy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

Method

  1. 1 Boil the corn syrup, soda, and water for fifteen minutes.
  2. 2 Cook until a small amount snaps brittle when dropped in cold water.
  3. 3 Add the vinegar when this stage is reached.
  4. 4 Pour into oiled pans and let cool enough to handle.
  5. 5 Pull the taffy until white, then form into inch-thick rolls.
  6. 6 Clip into neat pieces with oiled scissors or chill and break into irregular pieces.
