Pressure Cooker Red Cabbage With Bacon And Apple
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons bacon grease
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- 2½ lb red cabbage, shredded
- ¼ cup vinegar
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large apple, pared and quartered
Method
- 1 Heat bacon grease in a pressure cooker. Add chopped onion and brown to golden.
- 2 Shred the red cabbage and add it to the pot with the onion and grease.
- 3 Mix vinegar, water, and sugar, then pour over the cabbage. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4 Place quartered apple on top. Cook under pressure for 4 minutes.
