Poached Plums In Simple Syrup
Ingredients
- Plums (red or black)
- Sugar (slightly more than the weight of the plums)
- Water (enough to cover the plums)
Method
- 1 Combine the sugar and water in a pot. Bring to a boil to create a syrup, then let it cool slightly.
- 2 Add the plums to the cooled syrup. Place the pot in a larger vessel of boiling water (bain-marie) and simmer gently until the plums are tender.
- 3 Remove from heat and allow to cool almost completely before potting them up for storage.
