Poached Hake With Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 2 tsp English sauce (e.g., Worcestershire or similar)
- 1 knob butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- Hake fillets
- Potatoes
- Chopped parsley
Method
- 1 Thicken milk with butter rolled in flour, stirring until smooth.
- 2 Add English sauce and bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
- 3 Add hake pieces and keep hot (do not boil) for 25 minutes.
- 4 Mash potatoes and arrange around the edge of a serving dish.
- 5 Pour reduced fish and sauce into the center and sprinkle with parsley.
