Ingredients

  • 1 quart milk
  • 2 tsp English sauce (e.g., Worcestershire or similar)
  • 1 knob butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Hake fillets
  • Potatoes
  • Chopped parsley

Method

  1. 1 Thicken milk with butter rolled in flour, stirring until smooth.
  2. 2 Add English sauce and bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
  3. 3 Add hake pieces and keep hot (do not boil) for 25 minutes.
  4. 4 Mash potatoes and arrange around the edge of a serving dish.
  5. 5 Pour reduced fish and sauce into the center and sprinkle with parsley.
