Poached Fruit With Simple Syrup

Method
- 1 Make a syrup by dissolving sugar in water.
- 2 Bring syrup to a boil and add fruit pieces a few at a time to prevent crushing.
- 3 Cook until fruit is tender but firm enough to hold its shape.

- 5 Boil syrup until thick, strain over fruit, and let cool before serving.
