Poached Eggs On Toast With Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 pint milk
  • butter for frying pan
  • fresh eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • buttered toast slices

Method

  1. 1 Butter a frying pan and add a pint of milk. Bring the milk to a boil.
  2. 2 Slip in fresh eggs, one at a time, and poach them as usual.
  3. 3 Skim out the eggs, season with salt and pepper, and place each on a slice of buttered toast.
  4. 4 Pour the hot milk over the eggs and serve immediately.
