Poached Cinnamon Apples With Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2½ cups water
- 1 cup cinnamon drops
- 8 apples
- whipped cream
- cherries
Method
- 1 Combine water and sugar in a pot. Add salt and cinnamon drops, then bring to a boil to create a syrup.
- 2 Peel and core the apples. Place them whole into the boiling syrup.
- 3 Boil the apples until tender but intact, ensuring they do not break apart.
- 4 Remove apples and place in serving dishes. Pour the hot syrup over them and allow to cool completely.
- 5 Top each apple with whipped cream and a cherry before serving.
