Poached Cinnamon Apples With Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2½ cups water
  • 1 cup cinnamon drops
  • 8 apples
  • whipped cream
  • cherries

Method

  1. 1 Combine water and sugar in a pot. Add salt and cinnamon drops, then bring to a boil to create a syrup.
  2. 2 Peel and core the apples. Place them whole into the boiling syrup.
  3. 3 Boil the apples until tender but intact, ensuring they do not break apart.
  4. 4 Remove apples and place in serving dishes. Pour the hot syrup over them and allow to cool completely.
  5. 5 Top each apple with whipped cream and a cherry before serving.
