Poached Chestnuts With Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- English chestnuts, shelled and skinned
- Water
- Sugar
- Whipped cream
Method
- 1 Boil the shelled chestnuts in water until tender.
- 2 Transfer chestnuts to a mixture of sugar and water; boil until clear.
- 3 Let chestnuts cool in the syrup, then drain and pile on a dish.
- 4 Boil the remaining syrup until thick, then pour over the nuts.
- 5 Serve cold with whipped cream.
