Plum Orange Walnut Conserve
Ingredients
- 4 pounds plums
- 1 cup seeded raisins
- 2 oranges, sliced very fine
- ¾ cup sugar per cup of fruit mixture
- Juice of 1 lemon
- ½ pound walnuts, chopped
Method
- 1 Wash plums and remove stones. Slice oranges very fine.
- 2 Combine plums, raisins, and sliced oranges in a kettle. Add ¾ cup sugar for every cup of fruit mixture and the lemon juice.
- 3 Cook slowly for about 45 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning, until the mixture is thick.
- 4 Stir in chopped walnuts. Pour the hot conserve into sterilized jars and seal.
