Plain Currant Cake
Ingredients
- 1 lb flour
- ½ lb beef dripping
- ½ lb currants
- ½ pint milk
- ½ lb sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
Method
- 1 Rub the dripping into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- 2 Add the sugar, currants, and baking powder, mixing well.
- 3 Mix in the milk to form a thick batter.
- 4 Pour into a well-greased cake tin.
- 5 Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
