Plain Baked Doughnuts
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ nutmeg, grated
- 2 eggs, well-beaten
- oil for deep frying
Method
- 1 Sift baking powder into flour.
- 2 Dissolve sugar in milk, then add salt, nutmeg, and beaten eggs.
- 3 Combine wet and dry mixtures to form a dough.
- 4 Roll out dough, cut into rings, and fry in deep fat until golden.
- 5 Drain fried doughnuts on brown paper.
