Pickled Red Cabbage With Ginger

Ingredients

  • 1 firm red cabbage, cut into quarters and sliced
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Method

  1. 1 Cut the firm red cabbage into quarters and slice thinly.
  2. 2 In a saucepan, boil the vinegar with the ginger and pepper.
  3. 3 Allow the vinegar mixture to cool completely.
  4. 4 Pour the cold vinegar over the sliced cabbage and seal tightly.
  5. 5 Let it stand for three weeks before serving.
