Pickled Onions With Mustard Seed
Ingredients
- small onions
- water
- salt
- mustard seed
Method
- 1 Peel the smallest onions and place them in a strong salt water solution.
- 2 Change the brine daily for six days to draw out bitterness.
- 3 Briefly boil the onions, then skim them well.
- 4 Prepare a pickle brine similar to one used for cucumbers, adding mustard seed.
- 5 Combine the cooled onions with the cooled pickle brine.
- 6 Store in an airtight container to prevent spoilage.
