Pickled Cucumbers With Cherries And Raisins
Ingredients
- 1 cup vinegar
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon peppercorns
- ¼ teaspoon mace blades
- ¼ teaspoon whole cloves
- ½ cup candied cherries
- ½ cup Malaga raisins
- 18 small sweet cucumber pickles
Method
- 1 In a saucepan, combine vinegar, sugar, peppercorns, mace, and cloves. Cook for 2 minutes.
- 2 Add candied cherries and cook for 5 minutes. Skim out the cherries.
- 3 Add raisins to the syrup and cook for 10 minutes. Remove the raisins.
- 4 Add cucumber pickles to the syrup and cook for 10 minutes.
- 5 Layer raisins, cherries, and pickles in a glass jar. Pour hot syrup over them and seal.
