Pecan Pralines
Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¾ teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ pound pecans, cut into coarse pieces
Method
- 1 Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, cream of tartar, and water in a saucepan. Boil until it reaches a soft ball stage.
- 2 Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
- 3 Fold in the pecans. Pour onto a greased tray and let cool until firm, then break into pieces.
