Pecan And Walnut Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup chopped pecans or English walnut meats
- 1/2 cup milk
Method
- 1 Cream Crisco and sugar together in a bowl.
- 2 Sift dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder) and add to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
- 3 Add nuts and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- 4 Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and fold them into the batter.
- 5 Pour into a greased and floured cake pan.
- 6 Bake in a 350°F oven for 35 minutes.
