Peach Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 cups sliced peaches
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk or cream
Method
- 1 Make a syrup by boiling sugar, butter, and 2 cups hot water together.
- 2 Add sliced peaches to the syrup and bring to a boil.
- 3 Mix flour, baking powder, and salt, then stir in milk or cream to form a stiff batter.
- 4 Drop large spoonfuls of batter into the boiling peach syrup.
- 5 Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Serve hot.
