Peach Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 2 cups sliced peaches
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk or cream

Method

  1. 1 Make a syrup by boiling sugar, butter, and 2 cups hot water together.
  2. 2 Add sliced peaches to the syrup and bring to a boil.
  3. 3 Mix flour, baking powder, and salt, then stir in milk or cream to form a stiff batter.
  4. 4 Drop large spoonfuls of batter into the boiling peach syrup.
  5. 5 Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Serve hot.
