- sweetened peaches

- meringue or whipped cream
Method
- 1 Make a boiled custard using egg yolks, milk, and sugar.
- 2 Cool the custard and flavor with almond and vanilla extracts.
- 3 Arrange slices of stale sponge cake in a serving dish.
- 4 Moisten the cake with the custard.
- 5 Cover with crushed and sweetened peaches.
- 6 Pour remaining custard over the peaches.
- 7 Top with almond-flavored meringue or whipped cream.
