Parmesan Crusted Bread Rounds

Ingredients

  • 1 French roll, crumbed
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Method

  1. 1 Cut the bread crumb into rounds a quarter-inch thick. Fry in hot fat until crisp, then drain on paper.
  2. 2 Top each crisp round with a thick layer of grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3 Place in a Dutch oven near a clear fire just to melt the cheese. Serve immediately.
