Pan Roast Beef With Pan Gravy
Ingredients
- Beef roast
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 cup water
- Flour
- Water (for thickening)
Method
- 1 Season the beef with salt and pepper. Place it on a spit or rack in a roasting pan with 1 cup of water in the bottom.
- 2 Roast in a moderate oven (350°F), basting and turning frequently for about 3 hours, or until desired doneness.
- 3 Transfer the beef to a plate. Pour the pan juices into a skillet and bring to a boil.
- 4 Whisk flour with a little water to make a slurry, then stir into the boiling juices to thicken. Skim off excess fat if desired. Serve with the beef.
