Pan-Fried Venison Steak With Milk Gravy
Ingredients
- 1 piece frozen venison steak
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- Water
- Butter
- Flour
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 cup rich milk
- Salt pork (optional, if steak is dry)
Method
- 1 Place the frozen venison in water with 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Wait until ice forms on the surface, then remove the meat and scrape off the ice with a knife.
- 2 Wipe the steak dry and dredge it well in flour. Heat a good piece of butter in a pan.
- 3 Season the steak with salt and pepper. Fry in the butter on both sides until browned.
- 4 Add 1 cup of rich milk to the pan. Move the pan to the back of the stove, cover, and stew slowly for 1.5 hours.
