Pan Fried Oysters With Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 quart large oysters
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour

Method

  1. 1 Wash the oysters in their own juice, then drain them thoroughly.
  2. 2 Dip the drained oysters into the beaten egg yolk to coat them.
  3. 3 Season the oysters with salt and pepper.
  4. 4 Heat butter in a frying pan and cook the oysters separately until browned on both sides.
  5. 5 Move the oysters to one side of the pan. Strain the oyster liquor into the pan.
  6. 6 Add a piece of butter and enough flour to the liquor to thicken it into a sauce.
