Pan Fried Beetroot With Butter Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 medium beetroot
- 2 ounces butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons flour
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 tablespoon water
Method
- 1 Peel the beetroot and slice it into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
- 2 Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 3 Add the beetroot slices and fry for 20 minutes, sprinkling with salt and pepper.
- 4 Remove the beetroot and set aside on a hot plate.
- 5 In the same pan, stir in flour to make a roux and cook for 2 minutes.
- 6 Whisk in water and vinegar until smooth, then pour the sauce over the beetroot and serve.
